Interactium® update

8 July 2026 by PaLaDIn Comms

Over the past three months, members of the PaLaDIn consortium have been collaborating closely to review the specifications of the Interactium® platform, produced by our IT contractor Promptly Health, after the conclusion of our core Discovery phase.

Members of the TREAT-NMD team were joined by other PaLaDIn consortium members from Duchenne UK and Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) to meet with Promptly Health in person in May. During these meetings, which took place at Promptly Health’s headquarters in Porto, the specifications document was tested against several critical grant agreement use cases. The specifications were also reviewed by the wider consortium, to give everyone an opportunity to feedback so that updates can be made ahead of the next phase of the project.

These meetings were an excellent collaborative time, as the consortium was able to work directly with Promptly’s engineers to problem-solve some unique challenges that the Interactium® was presenting. There was also a glimpse during the meetings of the huge opportunity ahead, as the consortium’s experience and expertise in a variety of fields was combined with the problem-solving and innovative approach of the Promptly Health team, and this has continued beyond the Porto trip in the various meetings between the different teams.

After this review phase concluded, updates were made to the specifications document and meetings held with the various workstreams of PaLaDIn to ensure full confidence before the next phase of the project could begin. The consortium then met at the end of June and voted to commence the next phase of developing the platform, the Alpha build phase. The Alpha phase is expected to last until November 2026 and will consist of four core development modules: the patient app, the web portal app, the vault, and the web portal data platform/infrastructure.

Promptly Health is excited to be the chosen partner for the Interactium® project, which aims to be a ground-breaking initiative to improve patient care through collating data from numerous sources for process and analysis. Promptly have already produced a prototype patient-facing web portal which has received positive initial feedback from the consortium and the PaLaDIn External Advisory Board (EAB), and we look forward to seeing the development of the modules through the Alpha phase.

During the Alpha phase, a series of Agile “gates” will be set in place to provide an iterative methodology for development. This will allow updates and changes to be made as needed and bring continuous stakeholder engagement through the development phases. It allows the project to tailor the engagement of the right people at the right time. The iterative approach will also enable greater collaboration with the consortium partners by using shorter sprints as opposed to longer development approaches. We will see the prototypes come together step-by-step.

By the end of 2026, we should have some excellent Alpha prototypes that meet the acceptance criteria set in the project. We look forward to engaging with registries, clinicians and patients as the project progresses. If you are interested in being involved in the testing process, please do get in touch.
