From Friday 27 February – Sunday 1 March 2026, PaLaDIn coordinator Parent Project Italy held their 23rd International Conference on Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy, which carried the theme “Routes of Change” and was attended by over 700 delegates.
PaLaDIn representatives from Newcastle University, Duchenne UK and TREAT-NMD were in attendance. The conference, which was held over three days at the Ergife Palace Hotel in Rome, brings together a unique mix of attendees, including academics, researchers, industry representatives, world-leading clinicians, plus people living with Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy and their families.
Over the weekend, we also presented a PaLaDIn poster focusing on how PaLaDIn will be adapting and making use of the Central Recruitment Database (CRD) and Clinical Trial Finder (CTF) tools initially developed for Duchenne muscular dystrophy by the DMD Hub. It was a pleasure to share this work with all the other attendees, and to share a space with so many examples of ground-breaking research in the muscular dystrophy space.
