Duchenne UK is the largest UK funder of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) research. DMD is a muscle wasting, genetic disease affecting approximately 350,000 people worldwide and 2,500 in the UK.  
 
As a patient organisation driving medical research, our vision is to end DMD and its devastating impact. Our mission is to accelerate research into transformative treatments and technologies for DMD and ensure that people with DMD have access to them as quickly as possible. 

We are leading WP8, in collaboration with Newcastle University.  

Leveraging our work to date to drive participation in clinical research and access to treatments for all people living with DMD in the UK, we will develop and implement a comprehensive user friendly, proof of concept patient data platform for DMD, which will be then tested and rolled out for other neuromuscular diseases.
