What is the Project PaLaDIn Interactium®?

17 February 2025 by PaLaDIn Comms

PaLaDIn will develop and implement an innovative data collection platform to accelerate the development of effective treatments and patient care, enhance healthcare decision-making and improve patient outcomes.

This platform, called the Interactium®, is a global, patient-centric data platform which will link together different sources of patients’ data, including clinical data from patient registries, digital wearable devices and data reported directly from patients about their experience of their condition. This will generate a holistic view of each patient allowing for more in depth analysis that can be used to accelerate the development of effective treatments and support health care decision making.

The Interactium will be delivered through a mobile friendly, intuitive and engaging application that will provide feedback, information and value to each individual using the system to monitor their disease. As well as offering information directly to patients, the data will also provide new views and analysis capabilities that – with a patient’s permission – could be used by researchers, clinicians, industry and regulators.

Over the first year of the project TREAT-NMD and the consortium partners have been developing plans for how the Interactium will work and are currently working towards finalising the technical requirements of the Interactium. Workshops were held with key stakeholder groups to define their specific needs, including a workshop on consent and permissions that could allow patients to control their own data, and an industry workshop that identified key priorities for the analysis portals. Last week, a workshop aimed at gaining input and feedback from registry curators took place at the TREAT-NMD Annual Curators Meeting.

The feedback from these important stakeholder groups will be analysed and used to inform and build a full specification for the Interactium that will be built and developed over the remaining years of the project. Make sure you are signed up to our newsletter to ensure you receive updates about the development of the Interactium.
